Tips when using a dartboard stand
- Always practice safety
Yes having a dartboard stand is a great way to play darts when you don’t have the room to set up a traditional wall fixed dartboard, however always maintain a safe environment when playing darts using a dartboard stand. Always make sure that everyone is aware that darts are being played or someone is about to throw a dart. You’d hate for someone to be walking into the living room and they find a dart near their feet after hitting a dartboard wire from the dart game they were unaware was being played. Also make sure that any errant darts can’t do any damage to furniture, electronics, floors or wall fixtures.
- Make sure you use the correct dartboard measurements and the correct distance between dartboard and player
There no point in going to the expense of a quality dartboard stand and not setting up the dartboard at the correct height or throwing from the correct distance. Either use a measuring tape or toe line laser to get your correct dimensions.
- Have a quality dartboard
There’s no point in having a quality dartboard stand without the great dartboard. Whilst all the major dartboard stands have a universal dartboard bracket to accept all official dartboards, we recommend you purchase a dartboard of the same brand as your dartboard stand (or vice versa). The dartboards we recommend are the Winmau Blade 6 Triple Core and the Unicorn Eclipse HD2 Pro Edition.
- Have your darts accessories with your dartboard and stand
This includes a laser measure or simple tape measure as well as painters tape or a dart mat to mark out your oche. Your darts, two pairs is obviously the minimum you need though you should have back up flights and shafts. You should also have a dart sharpener and also a book of darts games if you are with a group of people.
If having a dartboard attached to the wall is not an option for you, this should be the end of your home darts. Invest in a quality dartboard stand will allow the darts good time to continue and also help take your game to the next level. By investing in a quality dartboard stand (and making sure you practice safe darts) you will have plenty of great times with friends and family around the portable dartboard and stand!
